Arm Wrestling Returns to Corflu!
An Arm Wrestling competition at Corflu Quire sparked fannish interest in this sport and culminated in the crowning of Ted White as United States Champion and Peter Weston as World Champion.
FACA (Fannish Arm Combat Association), the self-proclaimed ruling body of Fan Arm Wrestling, is pleased to announce its next officially sanctioned tournament. Bowing to widespread interest, Corflu Silver will host a FACA event.
At stake will be the World Fannish Arm Wrestling Championship. The Sercon Strongman will take on a challenger to be determined. Las Vegrants, hoping to put forth a suitable defender of Right, Truth and Fannishness, will hold a tournament to determine who will contest for Weston's coveted title.
Calling All Fannish Music-Makers!
There's no official connection between music and Core Fandom, but there are a surprising number of prospect Corflu Silver attendees who sing and play quite well — and even more who like to make noise. Corflu Silver hopes to give these Tuneful Trufen a chance to do their stuff.
Teresa Cochran (flyingfox692003@yahoo.com) is organizing some light-hearted musical fun for Friday night at Corflu Silver. If you play an instrument and/or sing, and plan to be at Corflu, drop Teresa a note and tell her what you play and what kinds of music you like.
There'll be a lot more details down the line, but for now, Teresa needs to find out about who'll be there to participate. Already on board are Teresa herself, Bill Mills and John DeChancie.
